Deadly Interception - Review

Harlyn bristled under the weight of unknown eyes dissecting her every move. Skin at her nape crawled from the mal intent focused in her direction. From behind the trunk of a spreading oak, she scanned the isolated meadow in search of the unknown threat.
Nothing stirred but shadow arms sprouting budding leaves. It’s been years since she’s turned the tables on the predator intent on breaking her.Harlyn Colton has never run from a fight, not until her best friend’s murder sends her to the mountains of Pennsylvania. Shredding her ID and ditching electronics, she assumes she’s bought time to sort the mystery before federal officers knock on her door.Brice Crenshaw works with the Ferndel foundation, a group organized to help returning military Veterans learn valuable skills and smooth out the rough edges before joining civilian life. When a kickass, knife-wielding female arrives with a target on her back, the group closes ranks to protect one of their own.
Accidents stack up while dead bodies reveal conflicting evidence. With the help of her K9 companion and the distraction of a well-intended protector, Harlyn must uncover the identity of the killer before he eliminates his final witness. Harlyn.

Deadly Interception is the fifth book in the Moonlight and Murder series, written by author Reily Garrett. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple and can be read as a standalone romance. Even though this is true, I believe you’ll fully appreciate the storyline by reading the books in order. Just know that it’s only a suggestion.
Deadly Interception tells the story of Harlyn Colton and Brice Crenshaw. Brice works for the Ferndel foundation, which was organized by Josh Loughlin in the fourth book of the series. Their goal was to have a safe place for former military veterans to acclimate to society and teach them some valuable skills. Harlyn was invited to join the foundation since she is a veteran and a master electrician. However, she’s on the run and hoping to lay low after her best friend was killed.
Deadly Interception’s storyline is gripping and full of many twists and turns. I was literally on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book! I seriously couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!

A Critical Tangent is a suspenseful story written by author Reily Garrett. It is the first book in the Moonlight and Murder series, and it’s full of action, drama, and suspense. I was quickly sucked into the storyline and read it in one day.
A Critical Tangent tells the story of Keiki, who’s best friends with Shelly and Gabby. Keiki designs drones, and while she’s flying a new prototype, she witnesses her friend’s murder. Nolan and his partner Coyote are both detectives, and they’re investigating Shelly’s death. When Keiki’s other friend Gabby disappears, the detectives have to decide if Keiki is responsible or if she’s being framed.
Nolan and Keiki had a lot of sexual tension, but the main focus was the investigation. I was kind of hoping for a little more steamy, but I truly enjoyed the story. The book did have a happy for now ending, but I’m hoping we’ll learn more about Nolan and Keiki in the next book, Pivotal Decisions.

Pivotal Decisions is the second book in the Moonlight and Murder series written by author Reily Garrett. It tells the story of Sabine and Coyote, who we met in the first book, A Critical Tangent. Even though each book tells the story of a different couple, I believe you’ll get the best foundation to fully understand and appreciate the storyline by reading them in order. Just know that it’s only a suggestion.
Pivotal Decisions tells the story of Sabine, who is an officer with the Fish and Wildlife services in Florida. While walking near the swamplands, Sabine and her friend Augie find their friend Jinx. They first think that he’s playing a joke, but sadly he wasn’t. They soon discover a note on his body which was left by the killer. Augie then calls his brother Coyote for help, but he hasn’t been home for roughly six years. Coyote’s nervous about coming home, but he’s willing to do it for his brother. He just wasn’t expecting to find their friend Sabine, now all grown up and looking beautiful.
I really enjoyed Pivotal Decisions! I thought the storyline was suspenseful, and I quickly got sucked in. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, Seeds of Murder.

Witness Darby Loughlin shifts from hunted to hunter in this spine-chilling thriller of murder, greed, and romance.
On a secluded mountaintop, Darby Loughlin witnesses her mentor’s death during an afternoon hike. It’s murder. She knows it but has no proof. The killer isn’t present, nor does he leave traceable evidence.
Teaming up with former police officer turned private investigator Nick Tucker is a distraction and unwelcome necessity. Unfortunately, she lacks the skills and tools needed to trace the camouflaged assassin.
Straddling the law has never been a problem since her moral compass points true north. This time, however, she must work with authorities to gain insight into a world to which she doesn’t belong.
As the snarl of lies and deceptions unfold, Darby and her K9 partner struggle to stay ahead of the killer who’s selected her as his next victim.

Seeds of Murder is the third book in the Moonlight and Murder series, which is written by author Reily Garrett. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple and can be read as a standalone romance. Even though this is true, I do believe you’ll fully appreciate the storyline by reading them in order. Just know that it’s only a suggestion.
Seeds of Murder tells the story of Darby Loughlin and Nick Turner. Darby was helping her mentor, Basil, collect samples when they were attacked. She and her dog Boots were lucky to get away, but sadly Basil passed away, and now she’s on the mission to find his killer. Nick is a private investigator, and he is about to finish the case he’s been working on when he’s interrupted by Darby.
This story was a thrilling page-turner, and I was sucked in very quickly. I really enjoyed seeing the couples from the first two books and loved how they accepted Darby into their group. The storyline was suspenseful with many twists along the way.
It’s a definite add to your TBR list!

An Unlikely Grave is the fourth book in the Moonlight and Murder series, which is written by author Reily Garrett. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple and can be read as a standalone romance. Even though this is true, I do believe you’ll fully appreciate the storyline by reading the books in order. Just know that it’s only a suggestion.
An Unlikely Grave tells the story of Josh Loughlin and Brooke Bengert. I was first introduced to Josh in the third book, Seeds of Murder, which is his sister Darby’s story. Josh is a veteran, and he’s recently returned home from the military. He plans on fulfilling a friend’s dying wish to build a refuge for veterans. However, things don’t go the way he plans, and now he’s in the middle of an investigation.
Brooke is an old friend, and she’s now a detective with her K9 partner, Shiloh. When Josh becomes the center of an investigation, Brooke and Shiloh are there to support him. But what happens when Brooke becomes a target?
An Unlikely Grave is a fabulous story, and it quickly pulled me in. And as always, the characters were well developed, and the storyline was gripping. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
