Wow! What a great book!
Tattooed Hearts is the first book in the Tattooed Duet series written by author Sabrina Wagner. This duet is a spin-off from the author’s Hearts Series. I had not read the books in the Hearts Series and was able to follow along without any issues. The couples from the series did appear within this story, but not in a confusing way for those that haven’t read it. I am more curious about their stories and will be adding them to my ever-growing TBR list. I think reading the series before will lay a better understanding of the background between some of the characters, but just know it’s not necessary.
Tattooed Hearts tells the story of Clarissa Lynn Black (Rissa). Both of her parents have passed away, and she only has her fiance Wes, who she is living with. Suddenly, he passes away unexpectedly, and she feels very alone. His family is very rich, and his father is a really horrible man who assumes she is only after his money. So, he bans her from the funeral and gives her three days to vacate their apartment. Zack is Wes’s brother, and he does not get along with his father at all. He helps Rissa get back on her feet including helping her move in with him. They become very close, but Rissa is keeping a big secret.
Loved the story and can’t wait for the next book!

I knew Zack would leave. It was only a matter of time. Everyone I’d ever cared about had left me. I was in love with Zack and I wasn’t ready for it to end. I kept my secret because I wanted to hold onto him as long as I could.
But, when Zack found out I was pregnant, and the baby wasn’t his, he became someone I didn’t know. I’d never seen such rage. He wouldn’t listen to me. He wasn’t interested in the truth.
I packed my bags and left. I didn’t need him, but I still wanted him. I still loved him. There was something seriously wrong with me.
Now that he was gone, I felt more alone than ever. I had dreamed that Zack could love both the baby and me. That somehow, we could make a family of three. That dream had shattered along with my heart, and now it was up to me to make a life for us. I was determined to do it on my own.

Clarissa destroyed me in a matter of seconds. That’s how long it took for her to admit the baby she was carrying wasn’t mine. I destroyed her just as badly with my temper and my words. I left her crying and kicked her out of my apartment without a second thought.

Tattooed Souls is the second and final book in the Tattooed Duet written by author Sabrina Wagner. This story is not a standalone romance so you will need to read Tattooed Hearts before beginning this one. Tattooed Duet is a spin-off of the author’s Hearts Series. I have not read the Hearts Series but was still able to follow along without any issues. The couples from the Hearts series do appear within this duet, but not in a confusing way for those that haven’t read them. I am more curious about their stories and have added them to my TBR list.
We begin Tattooed Souls where we are left off in the first book with Zack still extremely upset at Rissa. He believes she has cheated on him and gotten pregnant by another man. Although, the situation is much more complicated and he hasn’t given Rissa the chance to explain. Rissa’s mother, father, and Wes (Rissa’s ex-fiance as well as Zack’s brother) have all passed away. So, Rissa thinks that Zack will leave eventually too, so she just packs and leaves.
The storyline is gripping, and I was hooked from the very first page. The characters are well developed, and there was not much that could have pried me away!
I absolutely love this duet! A must-read!
