On the Rebound is the first book in the Steinbeck U series, and it tells the story of Callie James and Zach Messiah. Callie is a freshman at Steinbeck University, and she has gone through a difficult time these past several months. However, she’s determined to have a fresh start. So, when her new friend Josie invites her to a party, Callie hesitantly agrees. Everything was going well until she sees the last person she ever expected to see again.  Zach, the boy that crushed her heart.

Zach recently transferred to Steinbeck to help the university’s basketball team get to the Final Four.  However, his family recently went through something traumatic, and Zach is still having a hard time dealing with it. But, when he discovers Callie at a team party, he becomes absolutely livid.

Callie and Zach were best friends growing up, and they’re both still angry over events from their past. So, to say they don’t react well to seeing each other is putting it mildly. Now, Zach is on a mission to make Callie’s life at Steinbeck miserable. However, Callie refuses to back down. Can their broken hearts find their way back to each other?

I got to tell you, L.A. Cotton has taken me on so many adventures, and I have loved them all. When I heard about this new series, I got so excited, wondering what drama, angst, and steamy encounters she was going to take me on. And let me tell you, I absolutely flipping loved it! The storyline was a top-notch emotional rollercoaster ride, and the last several chapters nearly did me in!

I highly recommend adding On The Rebound to your TBR list!
