Reforming Kent - Review

Reforming Kent
The Kennedy Boys #10
Siobhan Davis
September 23rd, 2020

An angsty, emotional new adult romance from USA Today bestseller Siobhan Davis. Stand-alone with an HEA and no cliffhanger.

Kent
Rogue. Troublemaker. Bad Boy. Delinquent.
Everyone thinks they know who I am, but they know nothing.
And that’s how I prefer it.
Keeping my demons under lock and key is my only survival tactic.
Until a gorgeous feisty bartender enters my life, turning it upside down. Presley captivates me in a way no woman ever has, and I can’t get her out of my mind.
She’s determined to resist me, but I’m equally stubborn and more than up for the challenge.
Winning her trust, and her heart, becomes everything because she shows me a future worth fighting for.
But the consequences of my tortured past are far-reaching, and if I don’t let her go, I’ll only drag Presley down this dark hole with me.

Presley
Since I aged out of the foster system, I’ve worked hard for my dream future, and it’s so close.
Too close to let some arrogant rich playboy distract me.
I’ve heard all about Kent Kennedy, and with my history of troubled bad boys, I need his attention like a hole in the head.
Except he’s nothing I expected and everything I never dared to dream of. As I slowly uncover the truth, I discover a broken man with a big heart who desperately needs someone to see him.
I want to be that person, but his demons loom large, and I don’t know if I’m strong enough to do this again.
When the past rears its ugly head, shattering everything, will there be anything left of my heart to protect?

This book contains some dark and sensitive themes. Some scenes may be triggering. Please refer to the note at the start of the book.

OMG! Reforming Kent is flipping fantabulous!

Honestly, I love all of the Kennedy men, but I have been looking forward to Kent’s story ever since I read the first book in the series. I just knew that his story was going to be emotional, and boy was it!

Reforming Kent picks up where we left off in Adoring Keaton, which is the ninth book in the series. Even though this is true, Kent’s book can be read as a standalone romance. Just know that his brothers and their partners play a part in the storyline, and it may reference events from earlier books.

Kent has been referred to as the black sheep in the family. He frequently got in trouble, and his family often thought he was just trying to get attention. No one in his family really knew him, and they didn’t even try to find the reason why. That is until he met Prestly. She was the first woman to actually turn him down, and I immediately loved her!

Reforming Kent touched on some pretty difficult topics, and I appreciate the fact that Siobhan did not sugar coat anything. I often felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster ride, and boy did I cry. I love how everything came together in the end, and I especially loved the epilogue.

Another amazing story from author Siobhan Davis!

Finding Kyler
The Kennedy Boys # 1

★☆ Now a completed trilogy. ★☆

Two fractured hearts and a forbidden love they can’t deny.

You shouldn’t want what you can’t have…

Faye Donovan has lost everything. After her parent’s tragic death, she’s whisked away from her home in Ireland when an unknown uncle surfaces as her new guardian.

Dropped smack-dab into the All-American dream, Faye should feel grateful. Except living with her wealthy uncle, his fashion-empire-owning wife, and their seven screwed-up sons is quickly turning into a nightmare—especially when certain inappropriate feelings arise.

Kyler Kennedy makes her head hurt and her heart race, but he’s her cousin.

He’s off limits.

And he’s not exactly welcoming—Kyler is ignorant, moody, and downright cruel at times—but Faye sees behind the mask he wears, recognizing a kindred spirit.

Kyler has sworn off girls, yet Faye gets under his skin. The more he pushes her away, the more he’s drawn to her, but acting on those feelings risks a crap-ton of prejudice, and any whiff of scandal could damage the precious Kennedy brand.

Concealing their feelings seems like the only choice.

But when everyone has something to hide, a secret is a very dangerous thing.

Angsty YA/NA crossover romance, suitable for readers aged seventeen and older due to mature content and language. This book contains a forbidden love theme featuring first cousins and a cliff hanger. It is not a standalone read.

Wow! I have a serious book hangover!

Finding Kyler is the first book in The Kennedy Boys series written by author Siobhan Davis. It tells the story of Faye Donovan and Kyler Kennedy, and it’s full of angst, drama, steam, and forbidden love! Since this is the first book in a series, be prepared for it to end with a cliffhanger. And boy, it’s a doozy!

The story begins with Faye in her lawyer’s office in Ireland. Her parents passed away tragically, and she’s now learning that she has an uncle that lives in Massachusetts. Moving to the states is one thing that she’d rather not do, but she has no choice. Faye soon learns that her aunt and uncle have seven boys, and they’re very rich. Most of her cousins give her a hard time, but she’s very strong-minded and has no trouble standing up for herself.

The storyline is gripping with many twists and turns! Seriously, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride, and that last chapter was jaw-dropping!

I cannot wait to tear into the next book, Losing Kyler!
