Diamonds in the Rough - Review
A Diamond Magnate Novel
Series: Diamonds are Forever Trilogy #2
Author: Charmaine Pauls
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: July 14, 2020

Girls like
me, we know how to survive.
We each
have our own little ways, but we acquire those skills at the same tender age.
If you ask
me how many times a person can die, I’ll tell you many times. As many times as
a man stabs you in the stomach with betrayal and wrings out your heart with
lies.
Girls like
me, we live.
We don’t
get a choice.
We step
over the cliff and fall.
Eat, sleep,
die, and repeat.
(Diamonds
in the Rough is Book 2 of the Diamonds are Forever Trilogy and ends
on a cliffhanger. Book 1, Diamonds in
the Dust, must be read to follow the story. Book 3, Diamonds are
Forever, which concludes the story, will be released on 15 September 2020.)

Overall – 5 / 5Another epic story!
Diamonds in the Rough is the second book in the Diamonds are Forever Trilogy, and it literally blew me away! In case you’re not aware, this series has a continuous storyline. Therefore, you need to read Diamonds in the Dust before beginning this one. It’s important to note that the author includes a quick summary of the first book, which was greatly appreciated! Also, this is the second book in the trilogy, so be prepared for yet another big cliffhanger!
Diamonds in the Rough begins where we left off, which by the way, was quite the cliffhanger! I first thought that this scene had such potential for Maxime and Zoe. Although I soon learned differently. Let me tell you, my emotions went back and forth between being incredibly angry, and insanely turned on! And as I think about it, it’s probably how Zoe felt as well!
Diamonds in the Rough is an epic rollercoaster ride, and I’m dying to fill you in about everything that happened. Although, this is one series that you need to read and experience for yourself! I seriously loved every minute of this story, and it’s definitely become one of my favorite series in 2020. I cannot wait for Diamonds are Forever, which is the conclusion due out in September!
I also wanted to mention that throughout the story, we often hear about Zoe’s brother Damian. If you haven’t yet, I recommend reading his story in Beauty in the Broken. It’s not necessary, but if you’re like me and enjoy knowing all of the background stories, I highly recommend it! It’s another one of my favorites!

This book tells the story of Maxime Belshaw, who’s the head of the French Mafia and runs a large diamond business. He’s a very wealthy and dangerous man, and he often has to go to South Africa on business. Zoe Halt lives in South Africa, and she has had a rough childhood. This has lead her to dream of a life away from her current situation. Although, she definitely didn’t expect Maxime and to be a chess piece in one of his games.
I just love this story, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next! A definite add to your TBR list!
