“I’m done hurting her. She’s been hurt enough. It’s time I set her free…”
Once upon a time, I wished to go home and forget.
Now, I’m strong and ready to fight.
Seduced and claimed, Elder no longer just demands my voice, he commands me to be a thief like him.
I refuse.
But he offers me things I shouldn’t want, favours I should run from.
In return for his protection, I’m ordered to steal enough pennies and dollars to buy back my freedom.
Only, we both aren’t prepared for how he changes me, evolves me.
It’s my turn to learn about him.
It’s his wish to teach me how to be normal.
Until something goes wrong.
And our life together comes to an end.

Another amazing story by Pepper Winters!
I’ve read Pennies and Dollars several years ago, and I’ve always meant to continue the series. Pimlinco’s story is one that I can never forget, and I was lucky to have an opportunity to listen to Hundreds, the third book in the Dollar series. Just a reminder for those unaware, this series has a continuous storyline. Therefore, the books must be read in order.
The audiobook was told by narrators Kylie C. Stewart and Eric Rolon. They did a wonderful job narrating, and it flowed well. Pim has had a lot happen to her, and she’s developed many fears along the way. Even though this is true, she’s beginning to flourish and thrive now, and it’s great to see. We also continue to learn more about Elder, and his difficult past, which was sad at times.
Pim and Elder’s feelings for each other have grown, but it’s not that simple. Elder has a past that still haunts him today, and it’s causing him to have conflicting feelings for Pim.
Hundreds ends with a pretty big cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Thousands.

New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, delivers another delicious Dark Romance.
“I’m not the hero in this story, girl. You’d do best to remember that.”

I can’t.
Until he arrives.
Elder Prest, the only man to look at me and see me. The only man more ruthless than my owner.
He wants me for reasons I don’t understand.
He claims me for one night then leaves and never looks back.
Until he returns.
And life becomes much more complicated.

I have read numerous dark romances, but I believe Pennies, by Pepper Winters, is one of the darkest and most emotional of them all. The book definitely contains trigger warnings, so know that upfront. The main character Tasmin Blythe, AKA Pimlico, was strangled, revived, and then sold as a slave to a horrible man named Alrik Åsbjörn, AKA Master A. The book was a roller coaster of emotions, through it all…. I admired Pimlico for her strength and will. After 2 years of surviving, Pimlico is introduced to Elder Prest while he does business with Alrik.
Elder is a multi-faceted character. He does not want to care about Pimlico, but he does. This bothers Alrik and makes him even crazier. I was captivated by this story by Ms. Winters and can say it is an absolutely unforgettable read. I crave to know… is Elder as good as I hope he will be? I can hardly wait to find out and wonder what will happen next.
If you enjoy reading dark romance book, this is definitely one for you!!

He’s rich, I’m bankrupt.

Wow!
Pennie$ is a dark and emotional book and I couldn’t wait to read Dollar$, the second book in the series, by Pepper Winters. Dollar$ begins where we were left off in the first book, with Elder holding a broken Pimlinco. The storyline is just wonderful and perfectly paced. Ms. Winters did an incredible job of describing Pim’s thoughts and feelings throughout this book. We learn a little more about Elder and I feel like he grows quite a bit in this story. Elder has been a very private man and we see that Pim is not the only one who is in need of healing. The romance between Pim and Elder is a slow burn and I loved every minute of it!
I highly recommend this series to all dark romance lovers!

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.
