Hostile Territory is the first book in the Blackbridge Security series written by author Marie James. It tells the story of Deacon Blackbridge and Annalise Grimaldi. When Deacon was younger, he went into the military, but first, he married his then-girlfriend, Danielle Altieri. Sadly, when he returned home, Dani served him with divorce papers. Now, fast forward eight years, and he’s become successful with his own security company. Then one day, he received a phone call from his ex-wife’s best friend, Anna. Anna informed him that Dani’s missing, and she needs his help.

Hostile Territory is an exciting page-turner, and I was reading late into the night. I especially loved Puff Daddy, the African Gray Parrot. He was so funny, and I loved how Deacon was always so frustrated with him.
