Dirty Swedish Player is the third book in the Big Stick series written by author RC Stephens. This story can be read as a standalone romance as each book focuses on a different couple. The other couples from books #1 and #2 do appear, but it’s not in a way that’s confusing for those that haven’t read their stories.

Dirty Swedish Player tells the story of Nils Karlsson and Sierra Cole. Nils is originally from Sweden, but he moves to Minnesota where his mother is now living. She is currently married to one of the Deans of Minnesota State College, where he plays hockey. His mother asks Nils to help Steve’s daughter Sierra since she’s having a hard time fitting in. Nils and Sierra are attracted to each other, but he soon does something that makes Sierra run.

Now fast forward seven years, and Sierra lives in Chicago, and Nils is playing on the Chicago Blackhawks NHL team. He soon finds himself in trouble again, and his team demands that he clean up his reputation. When Nils sees Sierra at a friend’s wedding, he asks her to help him. A lot of old feelings begin to reappear, but she finds herself wondering if he’s going to break her heart again.

I really enjoyed this story, although I do want to point out that most of the story happens off the ice.
