Neighbor From Hell # 1
R.L. Mathewson
April 29th, 2011

Done with being the world’s biggest pushover, Haley decides that things are going to start changing. The first thing that she was going to do was to put a stop to all the crap that her aggravating neighbor put her through. What she hadn’t expected was to be sucked into his world, but Haley has a game plan and she won’t let herself forget what the bad boy next door is capable of.

The last thing that Jason expected was for his shy little neighbor to go Rambo on him over some ruined flowers, but he quickly got over it once he realized exactly what he’d been missing. After he decides to take her under his wing, he can’t help but notice how nicely she fits in his life. Now the only thing left to do was to convince her that this is anything but a game.

Playing for Keeps is the first book in the Neighbors from Hell series from author R.L. Mathewson. This is a light-hearted frenemies to lovers story, and it’s so cute as well as funny!  It tells the story of Haley Blaine and Jason Bradford, who are both about 30 years old. They have lived next to each other for several years, and they also teach at the same school. Jason tends to live like he’s still back in college and Haley has a tendency of being pretty uptight.

After having enough of Jason’s childish behavior, Haley decides to give him a piece of her mind.  What happens next is thoroughly amusing!  The storyline is cute, humorous, full of angst, and I could not put it down!

I truly enjoyed this story!  A definite add to your TBR list!

New York Times Bestselling author, R.L. Mathewson was born in Massachusetts. She’s known for her humor, quick wit and ability to write relatable characters. She currently has several paranormal and contemporary romance series published including the Neighbor from Hell series.

Growing up, R.L. Mathewson was a painfully shy bookworm. After high school she attended college, worked as a bellhop, fast food cook, and a museum worker until she decided to take an EMT course. Working as an EMT helped her get over her shyness as well as left her with some fond memories and some rather disturbing ones that from time to time show up in one of her books.
Today, R.L. Mathewson is the single mother of two children that keep her on her toes. She has a bit of a romance novel addiction as well as a major hot chocolate addiction and on a perfect day, she combines the two.
