Xavier
This is not a love story.
I hate you not for who you are, but what you represent.
I’m the whispers in the darkness you can’t quite hear.
I’m the unease that can’t be explained, but won’t go away.
I’m your worst nightmare come to life.
I’m the filthy rich guy who’s coming for revenge.
Everything you’ve ever had.
Everything you hold dear.
I won’t stop until I break you.

Rocky
You were once my savior.
Now you’re my bully.
I’m the girl from the wrong side of the wrong side of the tracks.
No match for your money, your might, or your wrath.
But I’m not going down without a fight.
When I go, I’ll take you with me.
Because we’re more alike than you want to admit.
And more connected than you know.
This is not a love story.

Overall: 4 / 5Break You is the first book in the Boys of Trinity Hall series written by author MV Ellis. This book tells the story of Xavier and Rukiya “Rocky,” and I would say that it’s not your typical romance. The blurb also states that it is not a love story. So, check out the warning before you begin.I was first introduced to Xavier in the author’s book Zed. Even though this is true, Break You is a standalone, and it’s not necessary to read Zed first. But, I do recommend reading it as it’s a great story.

In Break You, Xavier and Rocky are both students at the same college, although they first meet while they’re off-campus, and it’s a pretty amusing situation. Xavier and Rocky then find themselves in the same Psych class, and to top it off, they are assigned a group project by the professor. As the saying goes, there is a fine line between love and hate, and these two do not get along.

This enemies to lovers story had lots of twists and turns, and I was engrossed throughout. It’s a definite add to your TBR list!

Fake You (Boys of Trinity Hall Book 2) by [Ellis, MV]
Drew
I hate the lies you tell.
For as long as I could remember, everything in my world had been fake. Literally everything. I’d had it with it all: the lies, the pretense, the show. But I was stuck on a dizzying merry-go-round of deceit, and I couldn’t get off. So when she came into my life, I thought I’d hit the jackpot with something and someone more real than anything I’d ever experienced. That is until I discovered she was the biggest faker of them all. I hated her for it, and I wanted to make her pay.Kik
I tell the lies I hate.
I hated the lies and the pretense, but if someone like me was going to get where I wanted to be in life, it was a necessary evil. Truth was, I’d kind of made peace with the idea. It was a means to an end, and it wasn’t forever. Everybody had to do what they had to do, right? I could live with that. Kinda. Sorta. Maybe. At least I could until he came into my life, and seemed determined to tear down everything I’d worked so hard to build.
MV ELLIS knows what it’s like to fall head over
heels in love with a badass musician. She followed her heart halfway around the
world to be with one. She moved from London to Sydney after a steamy holiday
romance with a sexy bass player in sultry Brazil.
Twelve years, two children and a dog later, and she’s still
smitten. All this with a guy she sat next to on a bus for 36 hours! She has
toured internationally as a “WAG,” and her experiences inspire her writing.
Ellis’s love of romance began when she was 11 years old,
after a summer spent secretly reading her auntie’s books. She’s been a sucker
for an alpha hero and strong heroine ever since.
An avid reader, Ellis always knew she’d write a book of her
own one day. She was right about that. Following a career spanning advertising,
marketing, and social media, she finally wrote her debut novel, Catching
London
in 2017.
