I have two weeks left to live. Two weeks to come up with one hundred thousand dollars. Two weeks to convince the woman I love she loves me too. When The Bowman passed away — my dead father’s best friend and bookie — the payoff arrangement he made with my loan shark died with him. Now, I have two weeks to cough up the money or else. The only silver lining? The Bowman’s death brought Liv, his daughter, back into my life. Ten years ago, all she wanted was my love. What she got was a broken heart instead. But time apart and grief do strange things to people, bringing them together in unexpected ways. Like drunk and horny and naked in your bed. Now I’m in a race against time, fighting for the woman I want back, all while trying to figure out exactly how to stay alive. Life, I tell ya. It can sure deal one hell of a mutherfkn’ hand.

Aces High is the second book in the Baum Squad series written by author M. Never. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple and can be read as a standalone MC romance. Although, if you are like me and enjoy knowing the backstories, I suggest reading the series in order. Just know that it’s optional.
Aces High tells the story of Damon (Breaker) La Rue and Liv Ward. Liv’s father was the club’s bookie, and she grew up around the club along with Damon and Ky. Although, she moved out east when she was around seventeen years old. Now, it’s been ten years, and she finally returns for her father’s funeral.
Damon is a known player, but he’s only really cared for one woman, and that’s Liv. Seeing her again after ten years has him hoping for more, but Liv is not having it. When Damon’s life is threatened, his attitude about everything changes. He only has a couple days to fix the mess his deceased father left him with. Can he fix all of the wrongs and convince Liv he’s changed?
I really loved Damon and Liv’s story. It was steamy, and it kept my attention throughout. A definite add to your TBR list!

Snowfall is the prequel in A Slashes in the Snow series, written by author M. Never. This novella describes how Gerard Parish (Ky’s dad) and Kristen Kendrick (Kira’s mom) meet and fall in love. It also sets the stage for the first book in the series, Slashes in the Snow, which tells the story of Ky and Kira.
I just loved Snowfall, and I wasn’t quite ready for Gerard and Kristen’s story to end. I understand the primary purpose was to establish how Ky and Kira’s parents got together, but I thought it could have been written as a full-length novel. I guess I just wasn’t ready for their story to end. I’m looking forward to reading Slashes in the Snow!

Title: Slashes in the Snow: A Baum Squad Novel

Slashes in the Snow is a steamy and suspenseful step-brother romance, and it tells the story of Ky Parish and Kira Kendrick. It’s also the first book in the Baum Squad series and can be read as a standalone romance. Although, if you are like me and enjoy knowing the background stories, I recommend reading the prequel, Snowfall. This will give the reader some background info on how Ky and Kira’s parents get together.
Kira is currently living in her parent’s large house while they are off in Europe. She finally gets the courage to ask Ky for help when she swears she hears and sees things. Even though he is her step-brother, she has not met him and unsure how he’ll react. Ky does agree to help, but he makes it known what his real feelings are.
Slashes in the Snow is a fabulous story, and I was glued to my Kindle throughout the whole book. The storyline was steamy as well as exciting, and I truly enjoyed Ky’s alpha male personality. A definite add to your TBR list!
