Slow Ride - Review

Title: Slow Ride
Series: Powertools: Hot Rides #2
Author: Jayne Rylon
Release Date: May 14th, 2019

When tragedy struck, the loss of Jordan and Wren’s shared lover ripped them apart.

Guilt and shame made it impossible for Agent Jordan Mikalski to look the love of his life in the eye. If he couldn’t face her, he sure as hell couldn’t live with her or make love to her or even be the man to comfort her in the depths of her grief.

Wren Asbery’s mourning threw her into a deep depression she wasn’t sure she’d ever climb out of, made worse by Jordan’s abandonment in the time of her greatest need. For that she’ll never forgive that bastard.

After years of slow healing they realize they’re both attracted to the same man, which means they have some things to figure out fast. Will Kason Cox be doomed to lust after two people who can’t stand each other or will he be able to become the glue that sticks them back together?

This is a standalone book in the Hot Rides series and includes an HEA with no cheating. The series is part of the greater universe where both the Powertools and Hot Rods books are also set, so you can visit with many of your previous favorite characters and see what they’re up to now!

Slow Ride is the second book in the Hot Rides series written by author Jayne Rylon.  This steamy MMF story can easily be read as a standalone romance. The Hot Rides books are set in the Powertools and Hot Rods world, and it’s always fun to see some of the other characters from Jayne’s other series. If you are like me and enjoy knowing the backstories, I suggest reading Wild Ride, the first book in this series.

Slow Ride tells the story of Wren Asbery, the newest member of the Hot Rides crew. Wren is enjoying working with the gang, and she’s finally feeling like part of a family. Five years ago she was in a relationship with Jordon and Johnny, but disaster struck, and she’s been alone since. When Wren sees Jordon again, her feelings for him arise.  The only issue is that she started seeing Kason Cox, the famous singer. When Jordon and Kason meet up at one of the Hot Rides events, they decide to go somewhere private to discuss their situation.

Another fabulous story by Jayne Rylon!  I can’t wait for the next one in the series!

Financial and safety concerns forced them into a marriage of convenience they both secretly wish was more. The lessons Quinn’s past taught him should put the brakes on his fantasies of propositioning Trevon and Devra for a one-night ménage. But the need to atone for his previous transgressions, along with pure temptation, drives him to bring the struggling couple closer, even if it means breaking his own heart in the process. This is a standalone book in the Hot Rides series and includes an HEA with no cheating. Wild Ride is the first book in the Hot Rides series from author Jayne Rylon. This blazing hot story is set within the Powertools and Hot Rods world, but it can be read as a standalone romance. Some of the characters do appear within Wild Ride, but not in a way that is confusing to those that haven’t read their stories. I do recommend that you read their novels as it will give you a better foundation, just know that it’s optional.

Wild Ride tells the story of Quinn, Trevon, and Devra. For those that have read the Hot Rods series, Quinn is Ramon’s younger brother. I have been looking forward to reading Quinn’s story ever since we were first introduced to him. Quinn had a tough childhood, and his brother and the Hot Rods have been very loving and supportive.

Quinn is now twenty-two-years-old and the manager of Hot Rides, Hot Rod’s sister store. While Quinn was taking a break from work one day, he spotted a gorgeous man on the side of the road. The man, Trevon, was on his way to work, but his bike broke down. Quinn helped him out and soon gave Trevan a job after seeing the work he did on his vintage Indian motorcycle. The chemistry between Trevon and Quinn was pretty hot, but Quinn soon finds out that Trevon is married. When Quinn meets Devra, Trevon’s wife, sparks fly and boy was it hot!

I just loved this story, and I had a hard time putting it down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Slow Ride, coming this summer 2019!
