There are a million stories about naïve girls being taken by beautiful monsters.

In some of them, the monster is a tortured soul with a damaged past, but even then, that monster is redeemable.

This is not one of those stories.

My monster revels in the carnage he creates.

My monster is a villain with no redemption, one that revels in the malice he inflicts.

My reality is dark.
His demons are darker.

And though I love my monster with every beat of my morbid heart, this is no fairy-tale.
For me, there is no happily ever after.

Malice is the first book in the new Dahlia series written by author Natalie Bennett.  This book was previously published in 2017 and was titled Mercy. I didn’t get the chance to read the story when it was first published, so I am unsure if there was anything modified. I will tell you that I have read several of Ms. Bennett’s books, and Malice was extremely dark. And in my opinion, even for her standards.  So, please take that into consideration before beginning.

Malice tells the story of Morgana Sanchez and Julian Andreous.  Both characters are pretty twisted, but Julian was really out there! I really enjoy reading dark romances, although this one was like a dark romance on steroids!

Obscene is the second book in the Dahlia saga written by author Natalie Bennett. This story was originally published as Love Obscene and Love Corrupted in the Obscene duet in 2017. It has since been modified and rearranged into one book, which is now called Obscene.

This book tells the story of Katie and Mason, and their tale is warped, bloody, and dark. There are definitely several triggers within the story, so please keep that in mind before beginning! It is not a sweet romance, but instead, an ugly and perplexing love story. I often felt as though the story took hold of me, and I became its willing prisoner. I didn’t think that Ms. Bennett could shock me, but she did, and all I can say is OMG!

An excellent read for all my fellow dark romance fans!

Natalie Bennett is the creator of erotic stories that always come with a warning label. She writes about depraved alpha a**holes and women that love to hate them. Her books don’t follow any specific tropes, have no set word counts, and tend to deviate from traditional HEA’s.

When she isn’t in front of her computer she’s spending time with her husband and their three little boys.
