Bria du Mont and Damien du Sky have been in love for as long as they can remember. Neighbors and best friends since childhood, they planned to be together forever.

Shattered Love is the debut novel from author Nivia Borell. It’s also the first book in the Forever Us series, so be aware that it does end with a cliffhanger. Shattered Love tells the story of Bria and Damien, and their story is full of drama, angst, and emotions. There was often so much drama and angst that it became difficult to like the characters at times.
Shattered Love’s story is mostly told in the present time, although we are informed of the past through the character’s thoughts and discussions. I felt the past wasn’t always described as smoothly as I would have liked. I did enjoy the concept of the storyline, although I wish the fighting between Bria and Damien were taken down a notch. I could tell that Bria and Damien love each other very much, but one event changed everything.
Overall, a good debut novel.
