Tied Up - Review

Old habits and loves die hard…
When Kate left Boston a year ago for a coveted spot on a research team across the country, she thought she had severed her ties to Boston–and to Ian–for good. But when she returns to finish her dissertation and make a fresh start, she finds the cool, in control silver fox she thought she knew has been replaced by a different man–one she might want to get to know.
Ian’s carefully ordered life has been in turmoil since the day Kate walked out the door for what should have been the last time. But now that she’s back, he’ll risk anything, and change everything, for a chance to try again.
But while their chemistry in the bedroom has never been better, Kate fears the mountain of unresolved baggage between will come crashing down and destroy their second chance once and for all.

Another outstanding book from author Sionna Fox!
Tied Up is the second book in the Bondage in Boston series, and it literally blew me away. I absolutely loved the first book and couldn’t wait to read Tied Up. Just like the first one, the storyline was unique, refreshing, and I read it in one sitting! Most stories with dominant and submissive characters express them having such perfect lives. It can get monotonous reading the same type of story over and over again.
As I read Tied up, I discovered that Ian and Kate, were not the typical Dom/sub, and I cherished that fact. The characters were well-developed, realistic, and I applaud Ms. Fox for them. Doms are often portrayed as all-knowing and perfect, and I f’love that Ian had issues and needed to ask for help.
It’s important to note that this is a standalone romance. I usually like to recommend the reader begin reading with the first book, but just know that it’s not necessary. I do suggest that you do read Bound To since it is also a fabulous book.

Take one neurotic new girl in town and one kinky neuroscientist, add sparks and a side of sexual awakening. This might hurt later.
Jolene Whitman has never left her hometown, hasn’t been on a date in six years, and when her best friend asks her to move to Boston with her, she jumps at the chance to leave her country mouse roots behind.
Starting over in a new city with one friend, no job, and her bank account bleeding out is enough to send Jolene’s anxiety through the roof. Add in a hot post-doc with a dominant streak and it could be a recipe for a panic attack big enough to send her home with her tail between her legs. But submitting to Matthew Ward shuts up the running monologue in her head like nothing ever has before.
Each night they spend together, exploring the limits of their trust, Jolene falls a little harder for the man responsible for her sexual awakening. Under Matthew’s care and control, she finds a place where she understands exactly who and what she’s supposed to be.
She knows it’s too good to last, that a man like Matthew will never stay with a woman like her. But if the cost of finding herself is a broken heart, she’s all in.

Wow!
I absolutely flipping love this book!
Bound To is the first book in the Bondage in Boston series by author Sionna Fox. I have read a lot of stories about dominant alpha males who are into BDSM, but there is something about this one, in particular, that had me completely glued to my Kindle. Ms. Fox hit a home run with this one!
The storyline is realistic, which makes this romance so much hotter. I really love the characters and could relate to them, especially to Jolene. She has issues with anxiety, which results in her having a lack of confidence. When she meets Matt for the first time, she is barely able to say hi to him. I love how their relationship grows and how Jolene learns more about herself.
A must read!

Sionna Fox has been writing stories her whole life. Her first book was about dinosaurs, and according to her mother, it was adorable. She was late to the romance game, but hasn’t looked back since picking up the habit and firmly believes romance novels can save your life. She lives in New England with her very patient husband and a very put-upon dog.
She is the winner of the 2016 IRWA Indiana Golden Opportunity contest in the erotic romance category, and for “Best of the Best.”
