I just finished Dare Me by Rebecca Shea last night with a roll of toilet paper. I can’t express how much I love this book. I love all the characters, especially Saige. The author, Rebecca Shea, makes me feel like I am right there with her, feeling her happiness and her grief.
The book begins in Saige’s past when some difficult events occurred. Then we are brought to the present with her still dealing with the events. She recently moved back to Chicago, where her family originally was from, to begin a career at Jackson-Hamilton Aviation. She was recruited by Holt Hamilton, one of the bosses (or as Saige’s co-workers call him #HowHotIsHolt).
Saige goes out for drinks one evening with her coworkers and everyone gets pretty wasted. They begin to play a game of Truth or Dare where Saige is dared to ask Holt, who also happens to be at the bar, out on a date. She is nervous, but does it anyways as she has feelings for him.
Holt is not your typical millionaire business owner. He is caring and always trying to do the right thing. He was 100% committed to their relationship and did not want to hide from anyone at work. I liked everything about Holt, except he was holding a secret….
I was not familiar with this author before, but you can bet I am going to read her other books as well.
